End of Term 2023
We will be thrilled to see all our members at the Building Block, Sligo for our end of term celebration on Wednesday, 29th November.
September 2023
Our new term is up and running. It was great to see so many new members, and to welcome back all our returning members on Wednesday last.

Back to Class
We are ready to go again with our new term. All details of startup in the picture below. Read further for information on times, prices and schedule. Any queries by email to Amicizia at

Our New Term Begins
Amicizia is recommencing classes in The Building Block, Sligo, on 13 September, 2023.
Classes take place each Wednesday evening at 7.30 pm for 2 hours. The first semester is of 11 weeks duration.
Classes take place at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Our teachers are all native Italian speakers.
Social events are also organised throughout the term such as informal meals and Italian films. These take place outside of class times.
In the second term we organise a language/cultural trip to Italy for a week (usually around April).
The cost for the term is €170 plus an annual membership of €30. New members are welcome at all levels.

Recruiting Teachers
Amicizia invites applications from teachers of Italian to teach our weekly adult evening classes, from September ‘23 to March ‘24. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings in The Building Block, Sligo at 7.30 for 2 hours. We have 3 groups – Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

Annual Trip to Italy
Our long anticipated trip to Italy starts tomorrow, 15 April, as a number of us head to Verona for a week. We will attend school and explore that beautiful city. We look forward to an exciting week. We hope to improve our Italian a little in the process!
Our annual trips began many years ago and here is a Sligo Champion article of one of the very first trips in 2004 to Arezzo. The page was carefully filed by our wonderful record-keeper, Maureen Taylor, who is featured in one of the pictures. Thank you Maureen.

Notizia – Cena Annuale ( Annual Dinner)

Nostra cena annuale si svolgerà il venerdì, 13 gennaio, 2023, nel ristorante Courthouse a Kinlough. È importante registrarsi presto come posti sono limitati. Il prezzo è di € 45, bevande escluse.
Ci sarà un autobus da Sligo a Kinlough per gentile concessione di Amicizia.
Puoi iscriverti in classe la prossima settimana, o inviare via email le tue intenzioni ad Amicizia.
Aperto solo ai membri di Amicizia
Our Annual Dinner will take place on Friday 13 January, 2023 in the Courthouse restaurant, Kinlough. The price, exclusive of drinks, is €45. As places are limited it is advisable to book as soon as possible to secure your place. Payment will be taken at time of booking.
A bus will bring members to and from Sligo town. The bus is courtesy of Amicizia. You can book at class next week or signal your intentions to Amicizia by email.
The dinner is open to members only.

Disappointed about enrolment
October 2022
A message to all of you who registered an interest in our Society in the last number of months. We are disappointed that we had to turn people away from enrolment.
We have kept names on file for all of you who enquired about joining us this term.
We don’t have physical space to put an extra class on just now.
Please keep in touch with us on Facebook and our website for updates and any changes.
Good luck to you all and thank you again for your interest in Amicizia Italian Society, Sligo. We hope we will meet and be able to accommodate you in the future.

Enrolment
Amicizia had a very successful enrolment evening last Wednesday.
We are aware and sorry that we had to turn away a number of Beginners. This was due to limitations on numbers per room in the Building Block.
We are looking into the possibility of putting on a second Beginners group. Nothing is definite but, if we are able to do this, we will let those disappointed people know as soon as possible.

Finally we are back on 21st September in The Building Block, Bridge Street, Sligo.
Doors open at 6.30 pm for registration. Classes begin at 7.30 pm for all 3 levels.
